Men’s Skin Facts

Men’s Skin Facts

Men’s skin is thicker and not as fatty.

Men’s skin is 25% thicker with less underlying fat and more collagen than women’s skin. Thicker skin can appear fuller and firmer, however it tends to be more resilient to the elements which can leave it feeling dryer and rough. Consistent exfoliation is vital to remove dead skin cells, stubborn grime and help prevent ingrown hairs to ensure a clear complexion.

Men’s hormones play a significant role in male skin. Testosterone is the primary hormone responsible for increased hair growth and sebum production, which accounts for why some males are likely to suffer from acne.

Consistency is Key!

A consistent quality skincare program excess oil on the skin's surface can be controlled without removing it completely, which can occur when using body soaps with high pH. Consistent maintenance ensures the skin is free of unwanted dirt & grime, allowing for improved skin cell regeneration and better circulation to keep you looking and feeling fresh for longer.

The Irritations of Shaving.

Regular shaving can cause irritation and burning of the skin, making it overly sensitive and uncomfortable. Consistent cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising helps reduce irritation and prevent ingrown hairs.

Get ahead.

Like most things in life, prevention is better than cure. It’s never too late (or early) to start a consistent skincare program. Good skin care habits are no different than brushing your teeth. Look after your skin and it will look after you.
